I am a ceramic and mixed-media designer-maker creating a world full of 2D and 3D illustrations.

Initially studying Interior Design at Sheffield Hallam University, I fell in love with buildings and their endless possibilities. I then went onto study Contemporary Applied Arts at the University of Cumbria, specialising in Ceramics, Embroidery and Printed Textiles, and graduated in 2011.

My work tells stories from the typical English village in Derbyshire where I grew up and the characters that live there, to trips to the seaside and days out at the fair.

I use many different construction methods including hand-built ceramics, screen-printed fabrics, and machine and hand embroidery, all of which are underpinned with a mono-printing technique, giving my work a childlike unpredictability and charm.

The scenes I create show my passion for surface manipulation, through exploring colour, pattern and texture, whilst emphasising my obsession with collecting and gathering treasures. I have purposely manipulated scale and proportion, removing a conventional sense of reality.

The combination of buildings, people and vehicles gives the sense of day-to-day activity, and it is possible to imagine that the scenes could spring to life at any moment.

Our Home and Studio are located in the Peak District, surrounded by inspiring rural life.

I supply Galleries and Shops throughout the UK with our greetings cards collection, work on commissions and travel all over the country taking part in events and fairs x
